Info

The Framingham Risk Score is a risk assessment method that helps estimate the probability of experiencing cardiovascular disease (heart attack, etc.) within the next 10 years, based on key health measurements and lifestyle data. Information used in this calculator: - Age and sex - Total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol - Systolic blood pressure (and whether medication is used) - Smoking status (yes/no) Note: This tool is not a medical diagnosis. Results are for informational purposes and do not replace a doctor's assessment.

Practical tips for heart health
  • If you smoke, quitting is one of the fastest steps to reduce risk.
  • Aim for at least 150 min of moderate-intensity activity per week.
  • Measure your blood pressure regularly and keep a record of home readings.
  • Diet: less processed food, more vegetables, legumes, and whole grains; reduce saturated and trans fats.
  • Waist and weight control: even a small weight loss can improve blood pressure and cholesterol.
  • Monitor cholesterol and blood sugar (HbA1c) levels as recommended by your doctor.
  • Seek emergency care for chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, or sudden weakness/speech problems.
